Frequently asked questions (and answers).

Q: What do you charge?

A: My fees are
$200 - $250 per 60 minutes

The typical therapy session is 45 or 50 minutes, but I spend an entire hour. I find that the extra time is helpful—to avoid feeling rushed, and to achieve the most progress.

I accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card.

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: No. But if you have insurance, I will provide a statement to request out-of-network benefits, as well as receipts to facilitate reimbursement. Please check your coverage carefully by asking your insurance:

Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
Can I see an out-of-network provider?
What is my deductible, and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session for an out-of-network provider?
I do have limited openings for reduced fees. Please inquire if needed.

Q: What clinical approach do you take?

A: No two brains or backgrounds are alike, so I use a customized approach for every client. I ask questions, listen closely, and work to identify those modalities that will be most beneficial, effective, and acceptable for each individual. Attachment theory, psychodynamic, family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and self psychology are some of the tools in my toolkit. I also find it very helpful to educate clients about the brain-body connection, especially how the Nervous System is impacted by our experiences.

Q: How long will I be in therapy?

A: This question is common, but it’s one I can’t answer. There are simply too many factors to consider: your goals, your challenges, and all of the elements that make you you. We will gain better insight into the length of your therapy as our work progresses.
