The process.
What happens in therapy?
What others may not have told you or what you may not realize is that there is a priceless piece of insight you will gain. It may even frighten you. That is, it has to get really uncomfortable before it gets better. Think of it as stripping layers of wallpaper off the walls of a very old house. With hard work you will uncover what was there from the start, something authentic and beautiful. It’s difficult, it’s messy, it’s exhausting. Yet also exciting, satisfying, and even joyful.
Therapy is a process with twists and turns, ups and downs. It is not predictive nor linear. We will talk, explore, uncover, confront, feel and learn. Unhealthy defenses will diminish, negative processes will shift. Through all of this you will not be alone. And little by little your courage and bravery will have paid off. You will have gained understanding, introspection, and learned new life skills helping you to live a happier, healthier and more productive life.
I look forward to sharing in your journey.
